Description
The spectacular rugged and remote coast looking north over Penally Point and Penally Hill at the entrance to Boscastle Harbour on the North Cornwall Atlantic coast, SW England, UK.
An old shot from 2007 taken on the clifftop coastal path near to the coast guard lookout.
The old fishing village and harbour were subject to flash floods up to 9 feet deep on 16 August 2004. Reports made news services around the world. Businesses and homes were destroyed and cars were even swept out to sea. Rapid response by the emergency services including RAF helicopter evacuation of stranded residents prevented any serious injuries or loss of life. Only one broken thumb was recorded.
