Description
A view taken looking down the steep main street of Clovelly, North Devon. This unique, ancient fishing village sits perched on the precipitous cliffs of North Devon. The buildings appear to tumble down the cliffs either side of the narrow cobbled main street down to the harbour. Vehicles are not allowed. Sledges and donkeys are used to haul items.

What a wonderful area to live in. Thank you, Richard, for sharing your journeys with us. - Mike (V)
Richard Brookes replied:
Thank you Michael, it's a real pleasure sharing them...and exploring and creating them in the first place. I am fortunate to have these places nearby. I think it's important to not take such things for granted. I love exploring them and getting to know any history, especially some of the less visited and remote places.

A beautiful place to visit, but you need to be fit as I discovered when trying to get nback up!
Richard Brookes replied:
Absolutely Frank! North Devon & Cornwall's coast is quite spectacular and steep. Often on the coastal path you can see where you're going which doesn't look too far but when you come to walk it there are several steep up & downs before you get there. At Clovelly you have to time your pub or cream tea stop just right to get your energy levels up!! :)
