Love the atmosphere and the light is wonderful.
Richard Brookes replied:
Thank you Anna-Lena. So pleased you like it. It was one of those perfect cold, clear winter days. :)
Lyudmila Prokopenko
Great! The castle has only one drawback: the tourists. Tourists who kept flashing in front of the camera the photographer :)
Richard Brookes replied:
Thank you Lyudmila. So true - would rather see the drawbridge than the drawback hehe. Appreciate your comment! :)
Toni Abdnour
Oh, the history! I am mesmerized by this shot, Richard! l/f
Richard Brookes replied:
Thank you Toni. So pleased you like it. The castle dominates the town and is spectacular when you first see it. I think it is one of my favourite castles. The towers are pretty high - 70 feet (21m) up narrow stone spiral staircases!
Christopher McKenzie
Love the light on this.
Richard Brookes replied:
Thank you Christopher, I was quite pleased with the effect of the light, especially on the background buildings. It was taken into the direction of the sun on a cold, probably frosty, beautiful February day from what I remember.
Betsy A Cutler
Lovely piece! Packed with history and mystery. v/f
Richard Brookes replied:
Thank you Betsy. Really appreciate your comment. Makes it all worthwhile! :o)
Belinda Olivastri
Beautiful capture love it!! Love the composition and color choice!
Richard Brookes replied:
Thank you for your kind comments Belinda. I deliberated over several shots but liked the way the houses were framed yet fading in the distance & the intensity of the winter sunlight.

Thank you Ursula. I tried to get something a little different from the usual viewpoints.
