The impressive Great East Window of Exeter Cathedral. The Anglican cathedral, founded in 1133 and completed by 1400 is one of the finest examples of gothic architecture. Much of the glass is medieval dating from 1304. The glass was among many precious items removed from the Cathedral and stored safely during World War II. Nearly all of the glass which remained in the Cathedral was damaged beyond repair during the bombing of Exeter in 1942. Part of the 14th century stone vaulted ceiling can also be seen. Exeter Cathedral has the longest uninterrupted medieval vaulted ceiling in the world at some 96 m (315 ft). Exter is in Devon, SW England, UK.
