Description
The preserved ruins of St Catherine's Chapel and Almshouses buildings which were originally founded in 1457 in Exeter, Devon, SW England, UK. The ancient buildings contrast with a newer post war building behind. The ruins are a poignant reminder of the destruction of many of Exeter's medieval buildings during the Baedeker bombing raids of the German Luftwaffe when targeting cultural cities during the Second World War, in this case in May 1942.
