Description
Mol's Coffee House is in the beautiful Cathedral Close, in Exeter, Devon, England, UK. The wonderful Grade I listed old timber framed building dates from 1596, perhaps even earlier. The building was possibly named after Thomas Mol, an Italian, or after a lady named Mary popularly shortened to Mol. Local legends link the place to Devon born explorer and buccaneer Sir Francis Drake. He is said to have used Mol's as a meeting place with people such as Frobisher, Greville, Hawkins & Sir Walter Raleigh although this may be unlikely given the dates involved.
