Description
A wonderful seventeenth century lead water tank at Cotehele. The date 1639 can be seen inscribed on the side. Cotehele is a medieval house with Tudor additions and estate with quay bordering the River Tamar, in the parish of Calstock, Cornwall, England, UK.
Originating circa 1300, the main building phases appear to start by Sir Richard Edgcumbe from 148589 followed by his son, Sir Piers Edgcumbe, from 1489-1520. Cotehele is one of the least altered Tudor houses in the United Kingdom. Maintained by the national Trust, the property is open to the public.
